• Visit the organic farm in Caltagirone (marmalades, vegetables, honey)
• Experience the landscape where gooseberries, oranges, mandarins, grapefruits, lemons, and vegetables are grown and honey is extracted.
• Go to the lab to see how they make the jam. Tasting of jams, olive oil, saffron… You can purchase the products if you want to take them with you
• Lunch in an organic farm with typical products: try fresh ricotta cheese, breaded fig cactus bowls, kefir, pasta, grilled vegetables, grilled meat, salad, Sicilian bread, dried tomatoes, water and wine from Caltagirone.

Visit to Siracusa, Neapolis (archaeological park), Ortigia island, the market: Syracuse is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous for its Greek origin. Siracusa is famous for lemons. We visit the Greek Theatre, the ancient Greek prisons, the Ear of Dionysius, the Roman amphitheatre and the cathedral, which was a Greek temple dedicated to the Athena goddess, the fountain of Arethusa, temple of Apollo, traditional market where we acquire the products for the afternoon cooking class in a Sicilian villa on a hill

Lunch at a restaurant in the heart of Siracusa: We eat a typical Siracusa menu with appetizer, pasta, second course and lemon sorbet, water and wine from Siracusa

Afternoon:
Return to Caltagirone – and cooking class in Villa on the hills.

Evening:
Dinner in the Villa with all food we prepare together: With the products we have bought on the Siracusa market, we cook together in a typical Sicilian Villa on the Sicilian hills, where the chef Angelo lets us know how to cook some typical Sicilian dishes. During the cooking course we drink the wine of Angelo’s father, accompanied by cheese and olives.

Visit to an organic farm – ricotta cheese in Ragusa:

We visit an organic cheese dairy near Ragusa. We try the warm ricotta, which is prepared in the early morning. We help with the preparation of the typical cheese of Ragusa DOP, ‘DOP Caciocavallo Ragusa’, visit the barn and the animals and we will get to know the shepherd who explains everything about the production of ricotta and cheese.

We will enjoy various organic Sicilian dishes, including appetizers, water and wine, espresso and limoncello.

Afternoon:

Visit to Ragusa and visit of Modica – Modica’s chocolate:

We visit the city of Ragusa, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its Baroque architecture. Then we visit the famous Modica, known for its baroque and for the chocolate that the Arabs brought here to Sicily, visit the famous chocolate factory Bonajuto, where you can buy chocolate in various flavors: pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, almond…

Evening:

We return to the Agriturismo

Back at the Agriturismo, you can relax with a shower and have dinner in the Agriturismo restaurant, which prepares typical Sicilian dishes with ingredients made directly on the farm. We drink wine and water, espresso and limoncello or mandarin liqueur.

In the morning visit to a farm with organic Etna pistachios:

We visit the organic pistachio farm on Mount Etna. Mount Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe, 3,000 m above sea level. There is a small town called Bronte, where pistachios have been cultivated for centuries. We will visit the farm and the pistachio trees, and we will see how the pistachio is processed and turned into pesto, cereal, cream. In Sicily, the pistachio is used for sweet dishes such as cannoli, biscuits, cream, ice cream, granita, but also for savoury dishes such as pesto for pasta – or served with meat or fish.

We will enjoy the typical products grown on mount Etna: pistachios, cheese, vegetables… Lunch with wine and water.

Afternoon:

Visit to Catania, Piazza Duomo, Ursino Castle, Via Crociferi, Piazza Stesicoro and Teatro Massimo:

Visit Catania, Sicily’s second largest city. Famous for the almond paste, for biscuits with almonds and pistachios, famous for its Baroque architecture. Here we visit the most important monuments. The theatre is still used as an opera. We taste arancine and sweets.

Evening:

We return to the farm. Dinner at the Agriturismo.
